Nostaglia III
Whitney:
Many nights we prayed, with no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts a hopeful song, we barely understood
Now we are not afraid, although we know there's much to fear
We were moving mountains long, before we knew we could
Chorus:
There can be miracles, when you believe
Though hope is frail, It's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles, you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe
Mariah:
In this time of fear, when prayer so often proves in vain
Hope seems like the summer birds, too swiftly flown away
Yet now I'm standing here, my heart so full I can't explain
Seeking faith and speaking words, I'd never thought I'd say
Chorus:
There can be miracles, When you believe (When you believe)
Though hope is frail, It's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles, You can achieve (You can achieve)
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe
Bridge: (Both)
They don't always happen when you ask
And it's easy to give into your fear
But when you're blinded by your pain
Can't see you way clear through the rain
A small but still resilient voice
Says help is very near
Chorus: (Both)
There can be miracles (miracles)
When you believe (When you believe)
Though hope is frail
It's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles
You can achieve (You can achieve)
When you believe
Somehow you will
Somehow you will
You will when you believe
You will when you, you will when you believe
Just believe, just believe
You will when you believe - Mariah Carey/Whitney Housten, When you believe
This is a secular song that I have liked and have increasingly liked after I received Christ, since it's about faith and hope. I still remember the first important 100th posting of this blog. That was devoted to faith, hope and love. And indeed, when there is faith, there'll be hope and love. My viewpoint is that it takes the strength to blow the dust away for circumstances to crush the strongest but hopeless person on Earth, but it takes eternity for circumstances to crush the weakest but yet most hopeful person. The hope that comes from faith from Jesus... Indeed, it was the hope that drove the 12 apostles and many more (as recorded by Acts) to continue preaching the gospel which would endanger their lives. For those who are willing to read on, Christianity was spread in a time when it was perilous to profess that Jesus is Lord, and it began at a place called Jerusalem (unlike popular belief which wants to believe that it started in the Europe). The 12 apostles and other disciples of Jesus all were persecuted and with the exception of John, all died horribly. And even John, who escaped death, had suffered a fair bit. The main point is, there is no reason why they need to do so if they were doing for a lie, and the only conclusion is that they held on to hope, the hope that Jesus is Lord. Think about it. Does that make sense? Perhaps you want more answer, but that is all I can offer now.
Till next time I write.
